You know, providing advice to consumers in Trulia Voices helps build your brand, but  did you know that including a signature with every answer can go along way to ward helping you secure more clients.

Here are some tips for signing your responses in a way that’ll get you the most impact:

Cover the basics

An effective signature should contain the following:

  1. Name
  2. Occupation
  3. Company
  4. Contact info (just an email address and/or phone number)

A signature with these components gets the job done because it’s concise and  includes everything a prospective client needs to follow up.

Keep it short, not spammy

Keeping your signature short and sweet ups the odds of it being read, rather than being scrolled over.

Spammy signatures usually contain one or more of the following:

  1. Cheesy tagline
  2. Contact info for every single form of communication possible
  3. Lists of every obscure award ever won
  4. Previous occupations
  5. Religious beliefs
  6. Paragraphs describing your work style, work ethic, etc.

And those are just a few examples of superfluous signature info that we’ve seen!

You should know signatures that are too long run the risk of being flagged as spam on Trulia Voices.  The risk is highest when a lengthy signature follows (and overwhelms) a really short answer.

Now that doesn’t mean an answer like this will automatically be removed from Trulia Voices, but the risk is higher if the answer is perceived as being unhelpful.

Look before you post

So, take a second and look at your signature. Is it spammy? If it is, it might be time for a change.

If you have signature tactics that work, leave them in the comments section below.
